The remarkable advancements in electronics, biocompatible materials, and nanomaterials in recent decades have led to the creation, development, and innovation of wearable medical devices. These devices enable diagnosis and prognosis through compact sensors and biomedical instruments, significantly improving the quality and efficiency of healthcare services. These devices possess significant potential for the future of healthcare management due to their ease of use, cost-effectiveness, accessibility, medical advantages, and acceptance by the general public. Nevertheless, there are challenges that need to be addressed, such as the need for standardization parameters, performance evaluation criteria, scaling up troubles, and post-approval changes, as well as concerns regarding data security, vulnerability to cyberattacks and cybercrime, and most critically, the need for reasonable and affordable pricing of wearable medical devices.
